A pamper party is one of the easiest celebrations to host. Guests arrive, put their feet up and take turns being treated, while the conversation and the bubbly flow. There's no venue to book, nobody has to drive home after a massage, and the guest of honour gets real attention rather than another bottle of wine.

Why a pamper party works

Most group outings put everyone in the same activity at the same time. A pamper party is gentler: people drift between treatments, snacks and catching up. Introverts get quiet time on the massage table; the social butterflies hold court at the nail station. It suits birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, reunions and "we haven't seen each other in ages" afternoons.

Six pamper party themes

1. Bubbles and blush

A classic for birthdays and bridal showers: gel manicures, a sparkling-wine bar and a pastel colour scheme. Ask guests to pick their nail colour in advance and you'll have a colour-coded photo at the end.

2. Sunday slow-down

Robes, slippers, herbal tea and 30-minute back, neck and shoulder massages. Perfect for a group of friends who all need a reset after a busy season.

3. Mum-to-be shower

A relaxed baby shower with pedicures and hand massages for the guests and a longer treatment for the mum-to-be. Let us know about the pregnancy when you book so treatments can be adapted.

4. Winelands girls' weekend

Rented a house in the Winelands for the weekend? Book a morning of pedicures and massages before the afternoon wine tasting. We cover the Stellenbosch and Paarl areas.

5. Galentine's or birthday glow-up

Brow and lash tints, express facials and a "glow" photo wall. Great for a group heading out to dinner afterwards.

6. Generations day

Grandmothers, mums and daughters together — hand and foot massages for older guests, express mani-pedis for the younger ones. Our Pretty Pensioner and Mum & Daughter packages were made for this.

Choosing treatment stations

Pick two or three treatments so the party flows. Mixing quick treatments (15–30 minutes) with one longer one for the guest of honour works well:

  • Nail station: express manicure (R200), express pedicure (R200) or gel polish (R330).
  • Massage station: 30-minute back, neck and shoulder (R440) or 15-minute hand or foot massage (R130).
  • Glow station: express facial (R380) or brow and lash tint (R140).

These are our standard menu prices for guidance. Pamper parties are quoted individually, based on your guest list, treatments and the number of therapists needed — see our pamper parties in Cape Town page for how it works.

TimeWhat's happening

14:00Guests arrive, welcome drinks, nail colours chosen.
14:15 – 16:45Guests rotate through a manicure and a 15-minute foot massage; the guest of honour has a longer massage.
16:45Final touches, photos, cake.
17:00Therapists pack away; the party carries on.

The exact timing depends on how many therapists you book. Tell us your guest count and time window and we'll plan it with you.

Food, drinks and the little extras

  • Finger food only. Nobody wants sticky fingers before a manicure. Think fruit skewers, sandwiches, macarons and cheese boards.
  • Something non-alcoholic. Infused water and iced tea are as popular as bubbly, especially for guests having a massage.
  • Robes or comfy outfits. Suggest guests wear something loose with sleeves that roll up easily; open-toe shoes help after a pedicure.
  • A playlist at background volume, so the massage room stays calm.

Budgeting your party

The two things that affect cost most are the number of treatments per guest and the length of the party. One treatment each keeps things affordable; two treatments each makes it feel like a full spa day. Sharing one venue also means sharing one call-out fee. If you're hosting a hen party, our hen party ideas for Cape Town has more inspiration.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments should each guest have at a pamper party?
One treatment per guest keeps the party affordable and relaxed; two gives more of a spa-day feel. A longer treatment for the guest of honour is a popular extra.
How much space do we need for a pamper party?
A table near good light and a plug point for nails, comfortable seating, and if you're booking massage, a quieter room with roughly the floor space of a small bedroom.
Do you bring robes and towels?
We bring the towels and linen needed for the treatments. Robes and slippers for guests are a lovely touch for the host to arrange.
