A pamper party is a favourite birthday theme for young girls and teens — and a good alternative to a jumping-castle party for kids who'd rather sit, chat and get their nails done. With a bit of planning, it's also one of the calmer parties you'll host.
What works at each age
Younger kids
Keep it short, colourful and simple. Younger children enjoy choosing a nail colour and having a hand massage, but they lose interest if they have to sit still for long. Plan one quick treatment each, plus activities while they wait — decorating cupcakes, making bracelets or a dress-up photo corner.
Tweens
Tweens love the "grown-up" feel: robes, mocktails in fancy glasses and choosing their own colours. An express manicure and a short foot massage work well, and you can add nail art for a little extra sparkle.
Teens
Teens usually want a treatment that looks good afterwards — think pedicures before summer, or nails ahead of a matric farewell or sweet sixteen. Let the birthday girl decide the menu with her friends.
The best treatments for young guests
For children we suggest gentle treatments: express manicures and pedicures and hand and foot massages — the same treatments in our Little Missy package (express mani and pedi plus a foot and hand massage, R450). Basic nail art is R20 a nail.
Please share every guest's age when you enquire. We'll suggest treatments to match, and we recommend that a parent or guardian is present throughout the party.
A simple 2-hour party plan
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 0:00 | Guests arrive, put on robes or headbands, choose nail colours from a colour board. |
| 0:15 | Treatments begin. While guests wait, they decorate cupcakes or make friendship bracelets. |
| 1:15 | "Fashion show" of finished nails and a group photo. |
| 1:30 | Party food and cake (nails should be dry by now). |
| 2:00 | Party bags and goodbyes. |
How many guests can be treated in that time depends on how many therapists you book. We'll match the team to your guest list.
Hygiene and safety
- Tell us about allergies or skin sensitivities when you book, and ask guests' parents to let you know too.
- Our therapists work with clean, professional equipment at every booking.
- Choose a well-lit table near a plug point, away from the food table and pets.
- Keep nail polish and remover out of reach of the youngest guests and siblings.
Easy extras that make it special
- Mocktail bar — pink lemonade or fruit punch in plastic champagne glasses.
- Cucumber-slice "spa" photo props and fluffy headbands.
- Party bags with a lip balm, hair ties and a mini nail file.
- A colour board so guests choose quickly and everyone gets a turn.
Booking checklist
- Date, time and address.
- Number of guests and their ages.
- One or two treatments you'd like each guest to have.
- Any allergies or sensitivities.
- Where the stations can go (table, seating, plug point).
Send that to us through our pamper parties page and we'll come back with a plan and quote. For grown-up celebrations, see our pamper party ideas for adults.
