The wedding morning is not the time to try a new treatment. Some beauty services look best a few days after they're done; others need a trial run. Here's a practical timeline for the bride and the bridal party, based on how each treatment behaves.
Rule of thumb: anything that might cause redness (waxing, threading, tinting) should be done a few days before the wedding, and anything you want looking fresh (nails, a relaxing massage) as close to the day as possible.
2–3 months before
- Book your therapists. Wedding dates go quickly, especially on weekends. Secure your date with a deposit.
- Decide who's being treated. Just the bride? Bride and bridesmaids? Mums too? This determines how many therapists you need.
- Try a new treatment if you're curious. If you've never had lash extensions or a particular nail style, do a trial now, not in the final week.
4 weeks before
- Start a regular massage if wedding planning is showing up in your shoulders. A 30-minute back, neck and shoulder massage is a good stress-release habit. See our mobile massage options.
- Consider a facial well in advance of the day, so your skin has time to settle if it reacts.
- Agree the nail look for the bridal party — matching, colour-coordinated or individual.
The week before
- Waxing: book it about a week out so any redness has time to calm down.
- Brows: shaping, threading and tinting a few days to a week before.
- Bridal shower or hen party: if you're celebrating this week, a pamper party doubles as pre-wedding prep for the whole group.
2–3 days before
- Lash extensions: a few days before gives them time to settle, so they look natural in photos. Classic lashes are R550 and volume lashes R800 with us.
- Gel nails and pedicures: gel polish holds up well, so one to two days before the wedding is ideal for the bride. Gel mani and pedi together is R580.
- A full-body massage for the bride, two or three days out, helps with sleep and nerves.
The wedding morning
Keep the morning for calm, quick treatments that don't leave marks — and avoid anything new. Good options for the bridal party include:
- express manicures or gel touch-ups for bridesmaids;
- 15-minute hand or foot massages while hair and make-up happen;
- a back, neck and shoulder massage for the bride to settle the nerves.
We can work at home, at a guest house or at the venue, around your hair and make-up artist's schedule. Tell us the timings and the number of people, and we'll send enough therapists so everyone's done on time. Our group bookings page explains how we plan it.
