A couples massage is one of the most-requested treatments for anniversaries, birthdays and "we never get time together" evenings. Doing it at home removes the awkward parts — no driving there separately, no waiting rooms — and you can carry on relaxing together afterwards.
How a couples massage at home works
We send two therapists with two massage tables, so you're both treated at the same time, side by side. Each therapist adapts the pressure to their client, so one of you can have a firm massage while the other has something gentler. The therapists bring fresh linen, towels and oils for both tables, and pack everything away afterwards.
How much space you need
Two tables need more room than one. As a guide:
- allow roughly the floor space of a small bedroom per table, with enough room for the therapists to walk around each one;
- a lounge with the furniture pushed back often works better than a bedroom;
- a plug point nearby is useful;
- if the space is tight, tell us when you book — we can talk through options.
Staying in a hotel or holiday rental? Check the room size first. We treat clients in hotels and holiday homes, including on the Atlantic Seaboard and in the CBD.
What it costs
Our Couples Remmy Massage package is R1150 for two. You can also book two individual massages — for example two 60-minute full-body Swedish massages at R650 each, or aromatherapy at R730 each. A single call-out fee applies, because both therapists travel to the same address. See all prices on our mobile massage page.
Want to turn it into a bigger occasion? The Anniversary Bliss package (R1990) combines a full-body massage, an express mani and pedi and a bottle of champagne.
When couples book
- anniversaries and Valentine's Day
- birthdays — a gift you get to enjoy together
- babymoons and new-parent breaks (let us know about pregnancy when booking)
- honeymoons and holidays in Cape Town
- the end of a hectic season at work
Making it special
- Set the scene with candles or dimmed lights and a calm playlist.
- Warm the room in winter — you'll both be lying still for an hour.
- Plan the after-part. A light dinner at home, a bath or simply an early night. Avoid planning to go out straight afterwards.
- Put both phones away before the therapists arrive.
Tips for first-timers
If one of you has never had a massage, choose Swedish for both; it's relaxing rather than intense. Tell your therapists about injuries or problem areas before they begin, and speak up during the massage if you want more or less pressure. Our guide to your first mobile massage covers what to wear and how to prepare.
